Increase In Breathing/Heart Rate Flashcards
1
Q
What is the effect of mild exercise on your breathing rate?
A
The breathing rate increases meaning more oxygen produces more energy through aerobic respiration allowing your muscles to contract.
2
Q
What is the effect of mild exercise on your heart rate?
A
The heart rate increases meaning more oxygen and glucose are transported in your blood to produce more energy through aerobic respiration allowing your muscles to contract?
3
Q
What are the 3 steps in the effect of vigorous exercise?
A
- If the body cannot supply enough oxygen to muscles using aerobic respiration it switches to anaerobic respiration.
- Anaerobic respiration releases less energy as it doesn’t completely break down glucose meaning lactic acid is produced.
- Oxygen debt is created which either broken down by oxygen producing carbon dioxide. Or it transported to the liver where it is converted back into glucose.
