What investigations would you do for urinary incontinence?
A
- continence record
- urine dipstick +/- MC&S
- bloods: U&Es (renal function), glucose, Ca
For selected patients:
- post-void bladder US to look for incomplete emptying
- X-ray for stones/severe constipation
- urodynamic tests (always if surgery being considereD)

Treatments for urinary incontinence
A
- regular toileting
- pelvic floor exercises
- measures to improve functional incontinence
- medication review
- drugs e.g. oxybutynin
- surgery e.g. for enlarged prostate, prolapse failed to respond to pessary
- catheter
