What is gross motor skills?
The skills or movements using large muscle groups.
What is self-paced skills?
Where the time of the skill is under the control of the performer.
What is open skills?
Skills performed in a changing environment (such as playing surface, ground, weather conditions)
What is externally paced skills?
Where the timing of the skills depends on factors outside the control of the performer.
What is non-locomotive skills?
A skills that takes place when limbs move but the body remains in the same location.
What is closed skills?
Skills performed in a relatively stable environment (everything remains constant)
What is locomotive skills?
Involve moving the body from one place to another.
What is continuous skills?
Skills that have no distinct start or finish (hence the name continuous)
What is discrete skills?
Skills that have a distinct start and finish.
What are serial skills?
Skills where small movements are put together to form a whole skill.
What are fine motor skills?
Skills or movements using small muscle groups.
What are some skills that have opposites?
Fine motor and gross motor skills
Closed and open skills
Non-locomotive and locomotive skills
Continuous and discrete skills
Self paced and externally paced skills

Swimming
Running
