who was Hippocrates
he is well known for his discovery in balancing the body’s functions instead of them being completely what the gods had done to punish someone. He split the balances into 4 humors.
what is Hippocrates oath
His oath was essentially a promise to have the patient’s best interest in mind when deciding the outcome, it also adds to cause no harm. (still used today)
who was Galen
Galen was very determined to advance health care but instead of dissecting human bodies which was illegal he studied animal bodies and that helped doctors improve their surgery techniques, and the inspiration for new instruments.
who was Ali al-Husayn Ibn Sina
Avicenna was a well known physician who created a 5 book medical encyclopedia which influenced alot of medical practices for hundreds of years.
who was Edward Jenner
Was the first to follow through with the testing of vaccines and his trials were deemed skeptical at first but then successful .
who was Louis Pasteur
Was the first to find certain things can weaken the growth of bacteria but didn’t follow up on it the discovery eventually lead to the development of anti biotics.
who was Joseph lister
He created an antiseptic to clean both wounds and instruments which reduced deaths from infection from 60% to 4%.
who was Florence nightingale
She realized there was a serious problem in spread of infection in hospitals so she improved the standards of hygiene and then continued to promote sanitization.
who was Alexander Fleming
Fleming discovery was technically an accident although he was studying how to prevent this petri dish in which the bacteria was less was one that was contaminated, anyway it all worked out and was turned into a common practice to help as an antibiotic
