Aphek
The place where the ark of the covenant was captured by the philistines
Ashdod
Where the Philistines kept the ark of the covenant. The hand of the Lord was against this city and Dagon, their god in it

Where the ark was kept before the temple was complete. Was a mainly Levite town and was destroyed by the Assyrian king
Bethel

a. Abram set up his tent with Bethel to the east
b. Jeroboam puts calf idols here (and Dan) after Israel splits into two kingdoms. Jer uses Bethel as Israel’s “Jerusalem” aka worship place
c. Jacob’s dream about the staircase to heaven. He set up a pillar and poured oil on the top of it making a promise to tithe. Abraham called on the name of the Lord at Bethel and built an altar

The home of Eliezer, the heir of Abraham. Abraham rescues Lot.

a. the citadel in the province of Media where a scroll issued by Cyrus the king was found. It stated that the house of God be rebuilt in Jerusalem.

Where Jacob took his brother’s birth right. Their king did not let Israel pass through the land. The tribe of Judah conquered the land

b. Abraham lived there because of a famine. Pharoah almost took his wife-Egypt cursed because of that.
c. Joseph taken captive there. Joseph becomes second to Pharaoh. 400 years later….the Israelites are slaves and God delivers them from Egypt.

Alocated for Judah, but it was a stronghold during David’s reign. The ark lived there for a while. Historically a place of Baal worship

A tribe of Israel and a son of Israel who was born to him before God came to him in Egypt
