November 4, 1834
On Nov 4, 1834 the first chapter of the “Social Fraternity” was founded at Williams College (Cornerstone 57)
1847
At the Troy Conference in November, the first four chapters formed the Anti-Secret Confederation. These chapters were Williams, Union, Hamilton, and Amherst (Cornerstone 57-58)
May 13, 1858
The current form of the badge is approved on May 13 1858
March 9, 1864
The name “Delta Upsilon” was adopted by the Convention on March 9 1864 (Cornerstone 58)
1867
The first Fraternity magazine was published as Our Record. This later becomes the Cornerstone (Cornerstone ii and 59)
August 1879
At the August 1879 convention, the policy of Delta Upsilon was changed from Anti-Secret to Non-Secret (Cornerstone 59). Other sources say this occured August 1881
1882
The first DU Quarterly is published - then known as the University Review; it is still in publication today (Cornerstone 59)
1898
Delta Upsilon became one of the first international fraternities when the McGill Chapter in Montreal, Quebec, Canada was established (Cornerstone 60)
December 10, 1909
Delta Upsilon is incorporated on December 10, 1909
1921
The permanent trust fund was established, providing the basis of our strong financial organization
