Motives were based on a nation’s desire to gain power and expanding territory was a major key advantage.

Motives were based on a desire to explore “unknown” or uncharted territories and investigating new lands and unknown places.

This is where the nations set rules for what lands each nation conquers. The African nations did not attend for the european nations did not care much about their power in divisions.
Boer Wars
Boers were Africans that forced a war against the British for taking most of their land. British had defeated them with strategic skills and taking down their guerrilla tactics.

Founder of Zulu african nation and created a major impacted force and made the army power very huge that lead to more defeat.

Most important empire builder in Africa. “ The DeBeers Company created diamond mines in South Africa, gained new colonies for Britain in southern Africa, and used his wealth to build railroads & telegraph lines in Africa

India had natural resources that provided trade points with other European nations. This made them a major contributor to trading.
Sepoy Mutiny/Rebellion
British officials took in soldiers called Sepoys. Resentment for the British began to form. Hindu and Muslim Sepoys became angered by the British and rebelled and this lasted over a year.
