A
- WW1, Artillery, rifles and machine guns make wearing down the enemy defensively easier. Trench warfare.
- WW2, radar, phones, AA guns made Ariel defence.

What caused a war of movement in WW2
A
- Tanks and aircraft were fast moving and could go anywhere.
- Radio communication allowed rapid signals and advances, meaning an army could coordinate movements more effectively.

A
- New surveillance techniques, radar detected oncoming aircraft.
- AA guns effective against planes.
- Fighter planes could take down bombers easily.

How did bombers end the stalemate in 1943-45
A
- Inflicted mass civilian casualties e.g.400,000 germans killed.
- Bombing tied up military assets, countries had to use a lot of recourses to defend cities from bombings. Germany used 2 million people to defend cities.
- Destroyed economic assets like factories, docks and railways, meant less ability to make and move key weapons.
- A bomb could destroy cities with one bomb.
