During this time, many, many immigrants were coming into America, all seeking the American Dream, and for their lives to improve.
However, not all of these immigrants were welcomed pleasantly.

Push factors are the reasons why people want to leave their country. Pull factors are the reasons why people want to come to a new country, such as America. `

A law passed by the United States Government in 1882 suspending the right of Chinese laborers to immigrate to the United States.
Tenements
A rundown apartment house barely meeting minimal standards. Tenements sprouted on New York’s Lower East Side to house the huge influx of European immigrants.
