Hot start
If EGT climbs rapidly thru 750 C
1. Throttle affected engine - OFF
Uncommanded yaw/roll excursions
- Rudder and stick - AGAINST YAW/ROLL
OCF Recovery
- Controls - Release, feet off rudders, speed brake in
If still out of control: - Throttles - IDLE
- Altitude, AOA, airspeed, and yaw rate - CHECK
If command arrow present: - Lateral stick - FULL WITH ARROW
When command arrow removed: - Lateral stick - SMOOTHLY NEUTRAL
When recover indicated by AOA and yaw rate tones removed, side forces subsided, and airspeed accelerating above 180 KCAS: - Recover
Passing 6000 ft AGL, dive recovery not initiated: - Eject
Planing Link Failure
If detected after touchdown and flyaway airspeed available:
1. Go around
If flyaway airspeed not available:
1. EMERG BRK handle - PULL TO DETENT if required
2. HOOK handle - DOWN if required
Loss of directional control during takeoff or landing
If detected after touchdown and flyaway airspeed available:
1. Go around
If flyaway airspeed not available:
1. EMERG BRK handle - PULL TO DETENT if required
2. HOOK handle - DOWN if required
If NWS failure suspected:
3. Paddle switch - PRESS
Loss of thrust in takeoff or landing configuration
- Throttles - MAX
- FLAP switch - HALF
- Maintain on speed AOA and balanced flight
- LDG GR handle - UP if required
- EMERG JETT button - PUSH if required
Brake failure/Emergency brakes
If detected after touchdown and flyaway airspeed available:
1. Go around
If brake failure occurs at slow speed or flyaway airspeed not available:
1. Brakes - Release
2. EMERG BRK handle - PULL TO DETENT
3. Brakes - Apply gradually
Double Generator or Double TR Failure
If BATT SW caution light not on
1. BATT switch - ORIDE
Adverse Physiological Symptoms
- Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
- Control breathing
- Mask - OFF when cabin altitude below 10000 ft
- OXY FLOW knob or OXYGEN supply lever - OFF
Low/No mask flow
Inflight
If cabin altitude above 10000 ft:
1. Emergency oxygen green ring - Pull
2. OXY FLOW knob or OXYGEN supply lever - OFF
3. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft cabin alt
Cabin pressurization failure
Ground:
1. ECS MODE switch - OFF/RAM
2. CABIN TEMP knob - FULL COLD
In flight:
1. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
Rapid decompression
- Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
If rapid decompression results in cabin altitude above 18000 ft:
OBOGS AC: - Emergency oxygen green ring - PULL
- OXY FLOW knob - OFF
Smoke, fumes, or fire, in cockpit
- Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
- CABIN PRESS switch - RAM/DUMP (below 18000 ft if possible)
- CABIN TEMP knob - FULL COLD
Cabin temperature cold
If conditions are severe enough to preclude safe aviation:
1. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL.
Abort
- Throttles - IDLE
- Speed brakes - As desired
- Brakes - Apply
- Stick - Aft below 100 kts if required
- HOOK handle - DOWN if required
APU FIRE
- APU FIRE light - PUSH
- FIRE EXTGH READY light - PUSH
Ground - Throttles - OFF
Dual Bleed Warning
In flight
1. Throttles - Minimum practical
OBOGS AC
2. Emergency oxygen green ring - PULL
All AC
3. BLEED AIR knob - OFF (do not cycle)
4. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
Single Bleed Warning
In flight
1. Throttle affected engine - IDLE
2. BLEED AIR knob - L OFF or R OFF (do not cycle)
If light remains on
3. Throttle affected engine - OFF
If light remains on
OBOGS AC
4. Emergncy oxygen green ring - PULL
All AC
5. BLEED AIR knob - OFF (do not cycle)
6. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
Fire
Ground
1. Throttles - OFF
2. FIRE light affected engine - PUSH
3. FIRE EXTGH READY light - PUSH
In flight
Dual fire lights:
1. Throttles - Minimum practical
Single fire light or dual when side side confirmed:
2. Throttle affected engine - OFF
3. FIRE light affected engine - PUSH
4. FIRE EXTGH READY light - PUSH
5. HOOK handle - DOWN
BLD OFF caution
In flight - DUAL
1. Throttles - Minimum practical
OBOGS AC
2. Emergncy oxygen green ring - PULL
All AC
3. BLEED AIR knob - OFF (do not cycle)
4. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
CABIN caution light
Ground
1. ECS MODE switch - OFF
2. CABIN TEMP knob - FULL COLD
In flight
If below 47000 ft MSL or accompanied by CPOMS alerts
1. Initiate controlled descent to below 10000 ft MSL
EGT HIGH / FLAMEOUT / IN TEMP caution / OIL PR / OVRSPD / STALL cautions
- Throttle affected engine - IDLE
DEL ON / MECH ON / FCS caution
- Speed brake - CHECK IN
- Decelerate slowly to below 400 kts / Mach 0.8
FLAPS OFF caution
- Maintain airspeed above 300 kts and wings level
FLAPS OFF caution
- Maintain airspeed above 300 kts and wings level
