Anchor points
Nonprinting points that define where line segments begin and end
Artboard
Rectangular area where you will create and modify all your illustrations.
Bounding box
Appears around selected objects and used to move or resize objects.
Fill
The inside color of an object in Illustrator.
Outline view
Displays just the outline paths of shapes.
Paths
In Illustrator they have starting and ending points and determine the shape of an image. They can be closed, like circles, or open, like lines.
Preview View
Displays the artwork in full color, showing all the colors and how it will look when
printed.
Smart Guides
Are temporary “snap to” guides that appear when you create or manipulate objects or
artboards. They help you align, edit, and transform objects or artboards relative to one
another by snap-aligning and displaying X, Y location and delta values.
Stroke
Defines the outline or edge color of an object
Tool Panel
Contains all the tools to select, create, and manipulate objects
Direction lines
Lines that extend from anchor points and can be used to modify a curve or path with
precision.
Gradient
A transition or blend of two or more colors into each another.
Gradient Mesh
A mesh object is a multicolored object on which colors can flow in different directions
3D effects
You can create 3D graphics by combining 3D effects such as Extrude, Revolve, and
Inflate
