- Apollo sends a plague
- Achilles calls a council: Agamemnon must give up Chryseis
- Agamemnon is angry and takes Achilles’ war prize (Briseis) as a replacement
- Achilles is angry, almost kills Agamemnon and swears to not fight for the greeks until he apologises
- Achilles goes to Thetis to ask her to ask Zeus to make the Greeks lose
- Zeus agrees

- Paris offers a duel to Menelaus and he agrees
- They swear oaths that whoever wins will get Helen
- Priam and Helen watch where we are introduced to some Greek players
- Paris is outmatched and it is clear he will lose
- Aphrodite rescues Paris, takes him back to Troy and orders Helen to have sex with him

- Menelaus is angry at Paris being taken away and declares himself as winner of the duel
- Zues says the war should stop which winds Hera up, Hera and Athena have other ideas
- Athena goes to the Trojan camp and convinces Pandarus to shoot Menelaus (not to kill him)
- This restarts the war

- Hector goes to Troy to get wolmen to pray to Athena for help
- Meanwhile, Diomedes (greek) and Glaucus (trojan) meet on the battlefield and realise their grandfathers were mates
- They honour xenia and swap armour
- Hector meets his mother and wife
- She begs him not to return to war
- He goes back to the war and takes Paris with him

- He tells them he will no return to the fighting

- They get info from him and kill Rhesus and steal their horses

- Achilles still doen’t fight but allolws Patroclus to wear his armour and take the Myrmidons to fight
- Patroclus fights really well but gets cocky and kills Sarpedon (Zeus’ son)
- This triggers a chain reaction and is killed by Hector

- Hector strips the armour from Patroclus (precious because belongs to Achilles)
- Greeks manage to rescue the body and take it back to Greek camp

- Priam enters the Greek camp with unknown help from Hermes
- Achilles has a sad conversation with Priam and agrees to give the body back
- A temporary truce is arranged so Hector can be properly buried
