A

Needs to be emptied multiple times throughout the day (more than colostomy)
Change the bag daily
Change the base plate under the bag every 5 days

What are the complications of an ileostomy

A
Complications related to the stoma:-
Stenosis
Prolapse
Parastomal hernia
Retraction
Complications specific to an ileostomy:-
Obstruction
Dehydration
Mucous discharge from rectum
Vitamin B12 deficiency 
Stones - gallstone and renal stones increase in frequency following an ileostomy
