Sharing circle
Is an activity that the facility makes them through claiming that it will help them by letting out their thoughts and inner feelings about the trauma they have experienced the show circle is also a part of sauls culture. It shows that he is reconnecting with the part of his identity he lost along the way however he is not comfortable about sharing his feelings to other people who have not experienced it.
Moses
Souls counsellor in the rehab centre. guiding individuals through their journey of healing from addiction and trauma, which can feel like being enslaved to their past. Moses tries to free people from the feeling of being trapped and he later encourage his soul to write down his story.
Medicine people
They are traditional healers and usually Ceremonial leaders, who help others connect which also relates to the sharing circle. and they also heal the relationships between people. They also reunite and reconcile.
Seer
They are able to see things in a different way than other people with deeper insight/wisdom. Saul and his great grandfather had this gift or vision. When Saul loses his ability, he experiences a profound sense of loss within himself.

Nation belonging to the anishinabe culture a group of first Nations that occupied the plains.

A culture group with a great sense of interconnection which means that they’re connected to nature and the people around them.
Shabogeessick
The name of souls great grandfather that translate to slanting sky. The seeker of knowledge who brings back his wisdom and seekings to his people. he also brought the first Indian horse from Manitoba. To honour him the last name Indian horse became the family name.
Shamen
A person who knows about got a evil spirits and use the power of medicine or devinition to aide people. Souls great grandfather was a shaman.

A person who traps wild animals for fur. Sauls great grandfather was also a trapper.

The grandmother of Saul And his mentor who helps reminisce their culture With him.She also sacrifices her self increases to death to protect Saul. Despite all her efforts, He gets taken to the residential schools. However he is able to stay in a better physical/emotional Condition due to the fact that his grandmother showered him with love and affection.
Benjamin
Souls brother who was taken to the residential schools then later escaped and found his way back to his family .Sadly he seem to be ilL with TB, furthermore he passed away. Due to this disease, his death marks the last time Saul saw his parents.
Reachel
So younger sister who is take a residential school a year before he was born sadly she didn’t return. Her disappearance also affected his parents mental and physical health
