Who do you HAVE to invite to the IEP meeting?
The first 5!! LEA-Someone Who Can Interpret-Gen Ed- SPE- Parent.
When do you close out a meeting notice and send a new one?
When the parent indicates the “Cannot Meet and needs a new date and time.”
When do you invite the student to the meeting?
15 years of age OR entering 9th grade
What other box do you complete if you invite the student?
Bottom: Student was notified on _____ via _____!!!!!
When do you invite transition agency?
When “ADRS” is involved or should be involved. (16 years or older)
What do you have to have before you can invite the transition agency?
Parent permission
How is parent permission documented and agency notified?
Agency indicated on meeting notice and then parent gives consent to invite agency below their signature line.
What date can be used to notify agency?
Any date after parent gives consent- signed meeting notice.
What are the duration dates for the profile page?
First day of school till the last day of school.
Should you change the duration dates for the IEP when amendments occur?
NEVER NEVER change the duration dates!!!
What three areas have to be addressed on the profile page?
Academic/Behavior/Functional- all separate
What goes into student strength area on profile page?
Any goals mastered from previous year, assessment results along with standards, attendance, SIR, observations, checklist, awards, etc.
What goes into the student preference area?
Any interest which applies to the specialized instruction, i.e. likes working with wood- earn points to work on wood project in Ag class; likes the computer- use computer based assessments if doesn’t pass paper pencil tests with 70% or higher…
What goes into the parent concerns for enhancing education area?
Any thing parent discusses which applies to the students specialized instruction.
What goes into the Results of most recent evaluations area?
Behavior: 3 pieces of data Academic Needs per area: 3 pieces of data Functional Needs: 3 pieces of data Transition if applies: 3 pieces of data AND Standards for Academics and Transition
