What is IAM?
Identity & Access Management
systems and processes used to manage access to information and the organization to ensure that the right individuals have access to the right resources at the right times for the right reasons
What is Accounting?
Process of tracking and recording user activities
What is Provisioning?
process of creating new user accounts, assigning them with appropriate permissions and providing users with access to system
What is Deprovisioning?
Process of removing an individuals access right when they no longer need them
Example: When an employee leaves the company
What is Identity Proofing?
process of verifying the identity of a user before the account is created
What is Interoperability?
the ability of different systems, devices and applications to work together and share information.
What is Attestation?
process of validating that user accounts and access rights are correct and up-to-date
What are the 4 main processes of IAM?
- Identification
- Authentication
- Authorization
- Accounting
