A concise summary of a larger project (a thesis, research
report, performance, service project, etc.) that concisely describes the
content and scope of the project and identifies the project’s objective,
its methodology and its findings, conclusions, or intended results.

It is a description of your project (what you
specifically are doing) and not a description of your topic (whatever
you’re doing the project on).

Discuss in one paragraph what you will do in the
research. This is made relevant and supported by the
argument and discussion in the Literature Review. This is
a brief statement of how you will investigate the
research problem.
Purpose of the Study
Discuss what the benefit of your potential results and
accomplishing your research purpose for the population
of your study, the academic community, and
practitioners in your field.
Significance of the Study
Keep this brief, if extensive a glossary is required, which
would belong in the appendices.
Definition of Terms
This section is a brief discussion of what your study is and can accomplish, and by extension,
what it is not.
Scope and Limitations
Describe what your research design cannot accomplish
due to the scope of the project
