Princeton has dining clubs that students go to and have meals and Wilson was convinced these were undoing Princeton bc they were encouraging Princeton undergraduates to simply have fun, so he wanted to end them.

The students who only went to Princeton bc of father’s money, so question was trying to end these dining clubs

The board did not agree to ending the clubs

The second issue was graduate school, Wilson thought any institution needed a graduate school so insisted on graduate school at the center of campus.

Wanted undergrads to mix with the grad students to improve their academic improvement

The proctor had made the graduate school built but off to side of campus not in middle of campus so they can expand it as land beside it.

Key controversies where should graduate school be land given on outskirt to expand schl or center of campus

Wilson began to resent and find them as enemies since they disagreed about this

This led Wilson to resign from Princeton and go into politics

KEY: Wilson relationship w father = repressed hostility but open love

Since he felt someone dominated him (his father), so he needed to dominate everyone else
