What are the assumptions made in the Kinetic Theory of Gases.

A

The volume of molecules is negligible compared to the volume of the container.

Molecules do not attract each other.

Molecules move randomly.

All collisions (container and between molecules) are elastic.

The time taken for a collisions is far less than the time between collisions.

Any sample of an ideal gas contains a large number of molecules.

A

A

The RMS speed is the mean of the squared velocities of a set of molecules rooted. This allows an understanding of the molecule’s movement excluding direction.

The method of mixtures uses two liquids both of known mass and temperature, one with a known SHC and one with an unknown SHC.
