What is an IPO?
IPO = Input, Process, Output
Input- Student’s attendance record - AM and PM registration, if they are present, absent or late
Process- List of students who are absent so they can be contacted, list of students who are late so it can be recorded and the reasons for this in case this information can be found easily
Output- List so that teachers can contact parents or try to find the student or find out why they are not present.

What is the difference between Data and Information?
Data = raw facts and figures which have no real meaning eg. 23,43,75
Information = data which has been processed and given a meaning eg. ages = 23,43,75
What are the two types of software?
Programs on a computer than allow it to function. The two types of software are generic (can be bought off the shelf) and bespoke (are designed to be fit for purpose for the user)
What does the Data Protection Act do to protect a users information?
The Data Protection Act 1998 is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which defines UK law on the processing of data on identifiable living people. It is the main piece of legislation that governs the protection of personal data in the UK.
Outline the Computer Misuse Act
The Computer Misuse Act recognized the following new offences: Unauthorized access to computer material. Unauthorized access with intent to commit or facilitate a crime. Unauthorized modification of computer material. Making, supplying or obtaining anything which can be used in computer misuse offences.
What is the Copyright and Patents Act?
This Act was introduced to protect the investment of time, money and effort by the people who create original pieces of work. It has two main purposes, To ensure people are rewarded for their endeavors and to give protection to the copyright holder if someone tries to copy or steal their work.
Outline the Freedom of Information Act
The Freedom of Information Act is an Act that creates a public “right of access” to information held by public authorities. It is the implementation of freedom of information legislation in the United Kingdom on a national level.
