A
  • easily amendable
  • they can tour the house going into different rooms and looking at different angles
  • change certain features
17
Q

-can generate a prediction of what the garden will look like in a few weeks/months (when planting)

18
Q

Uses of CAD and CAM in fashion design

A
  • able to view in 3D (every angle)

- 3D body scanning (view different shapes and body types)

19
Q

Advantages to customer of online shopping

A
  • don’t have to travel long distances
  • don’t have to struggle through crowds
  • beneficial to disables customers
20

Roles of e-commerce

A

Buyers: people who purchase a good or service

Sellers: people who offer goods and services to buyers

Producers: people who create the products and services that sellers offer to buyers

24
EPOS
- Electronic Point of Sale - tills - the printer attached to the EPOS prints a receipt and also details of the time and supermarket the products were purchased at, which minimises mistakes and lessens the time the customer has to spend at the till
25
Bar codes
- many barcodes use the EAN which is a 13 digit number which can be used to uniquely identify a product - the barcodes are read by the EPOS tills at the checkouts
26
Automatic stock control
- when the store closes, the computer system automatically updates it's record of the number of stock of every item in store - the SEC allows managers to get a real time stock picture and allows a manager to escalate stock deliveries
27
Just in time control systems
- the 'just in time' system takes advantage of a stock information system and automatically orders more stock when it falls below a set level. - meaning the bare minimum of stock is ordered so the warehouse is not packed with un-necessary stock
28
Advantages and disadvantages of just in time stock systems
Adv: - money is saved: less warehouse spaces maintained and purchased + not ordering too much stock and paying for it - fewer staff needed to maintain warehouse - business is more aware and responsive to changes in supply and demand Disadv: - if there is a disruption in the transport system, they will quickly run out of stock - sudden changes in patterns can mean they haven't got the stock customers want
29
Control systems
- computers also used to control the temperature of freezers in shops - sensors monitor the temperature and the system can change depending on if it's too hot or too cold
