This battle was a success and boosted moral for the allies and japan taking the philippines from the USA and the philippines were the biggest failures of the united states marines so retaking it was a symbolical moment

USA lost more money than soldiers and this was a big concern but on the other hand japan lost almost half million soldiers from combat and from lack of money most died from starvation and diseases
