A

-The use of the lavish physical setting which is influenced by MGM musicals
-A range of subject matters eg- young love, maturity, adolescence, dream, reality and adventure
-The recognition and the inclusion of technology through the use of projections - in the revolt they use a projection to show the bricks crumbling off the walls and the change from reality to dream

How does Romeo and Juliet portray these features?

A

A range of cultural influences - The story of Romeo and Juliet which is open to interpretation and is more ambiguous than his other works eg- the relationship between Romeo and his parents shows that society isn’t perfect
Physical setting - Clean sterile environment of the Verona Institute, less lavish than the other sets and its round suggesting that its all a cyclical pattern - a sense of order
Change is perceived as desirable - exploring more abstract movements with a younger choreographer and the subject matter is a lot more mature narrow audience range
