PATCHTESTS T ese are negative in ICD unless ACD is also present (see below).

tx for acute subacute and severe

A

Acute. Identi y and remove the etiologic
agent. Apply wet dressings with Burow’s solu- tion, changed every 2 to 3 h. Larger vesicles may be drained. opical class I–II glucocor- ticoid preparations. In severe cases, systemic glucocorticoids may be indicated. Prednisone: 2-week course, 60 mg initially, tapering by steps o 10mg.
Subacute and Chronic. Remove etiologic/ pathogenic agent. Potent topical glucocorticoids (betamethasone dipropio- nate or clobetasol propionate) and adequate lubrication

SYSTEMICTREATMENT Alitretinoin (approved in Europe and Canada) 0.5 mg/kg body weight po
orupto6months.Observecontraindications to systemic retinoids
