MOA use dose
ABX, poorly absorbed, stays in GIT
use: (+) breath test SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth)
550mg po tid x14d, can repeat up to 2x
eluxadoline (viberzi) MOA
mu agonist, gamma antag, kappa ag, inhibits bowel contraction
eluxadoline (viberzi) AE CI
AE: sphincter of oddi dysfunction (spasm)
CI: hx pancreatitis, alcoholism or current
no gall bladder, pts who AEingest >/= 3 alcoholic beverages a day
elosteron MOA
5HT3 antag dec transit time and increases H2O reabs from colon to body, dec stool liquidity
elosteron uses
IBS-D who failed conventional tx (xifaxan or viberzi)
only approved for women who failed conventional and have severe IBS-D
elosteron AE
severe constipation, ischemic colitis (REMS!)
