Management of IBS
A
Mainly managed in primary care
Dietary management eg increase fluids, decrease caffeine
Psychological therapy and/or stress management
Constipation: slowly increase fibre intake (or use ispaghula)
Diarrhoea: bulking agent w or wo loperamide (anti motility)
Dyspepsia: antacids
