A

The ‘default’ position which we usually assume to be true. E.g. rolling a five getting a 6, H0: P = 1/6

Q

Alternative hypothesis

A

The hypothesis tells us about the parameter/situation if our null hypothesis turns out to be incorrect. E.g. for rolling a dude and getting a 6, H1: P =/ 1/6

Q

Test statistic

A

The result of the experiment we are using, which we use to test H0. E.g. if we tossed a coin 4 times and got heads 3 then that value/ proportion is the test statistic
