What are some causes of primary hypogonadism?

A

Chromosomal abnormalities - ie Klinefelter syndrome, males with more than 1 X chromosom and XX males.

  1. Congenital Anorchia
  2. Chemotherapy and radiation induced hypogonadism
  3. Sertoli cell only syndrome Del Castillo syndrome)
  4. Testicular dysgenesis syndrome.

How do you diagnose primary hypogonadism?

A

Low testosterone. No rise after HCG.

Bone age may help (with constitutional delay)
