Wash & dry hands before handling Clean & disinfect lens after each use Throw away solution and air dry case after insertion Remove lenses if eyes red & sore Attend regular aftercare Build wear time
Contact Lens:

Do not sleep in lenses unless designed for purpose
Don’t use saliva, tap water or incorrect solutions
Don’t change solution without seeking advice
Don’t use lenses for swimming, saunas or spa
Do not wear damaged lenses
Do not wear contact lenses for certain sports unless protective eyewear is worn
Insertion & Removal:
Hygiene
Thoroughly was hands with antimicrobial soap
Thoroughly dry hands
Moisturisers applied after insertion

Insertion of Soft Contact Lenses
Short nails
Check lens for any damage
Balance lens on index finger of dominant hand and ensure it is not inside out.
Hold bottom lid with middle finger of dominate hand and top lid with other hand
Gently place contact lens onto the eye and release lower lid, then top
Insertion & Removal:
Removal of Soft Contact Lenses
Thoroughly wash and dry hands
Hold bottom lid with dominant hand and top lid with other
Use index finger to lid contact lens to lower lid
Use index finger and thumb to gently pinch lens off the eye.

If decentered, place finger over contact lens to move back into position and blink to allow resettle

Same hygiene
Check for damages
Contact lens on index finger of dominant hand, middle finger holds bottom lid and other hand holds top lid.
Contact lens placed directly on the cornea
Insertion & Removal:
Removal of RGP Lenses
Same hygiene
Look down onto mirror
Place non-dominant hand underneath eye
Using index finger of dominant hand, pull top and bottom lid taught against edge of contact lens and blink
Blinking will force lens off the eye into hand

Lids should be used to correctly centre the lens back in place
