Hydraulics Flashcards
Where is the HYD1 system routed?
Primarily along the right side of the fuselage,
main landing gear Bay
wing leading edge
Where is the hyd 2 system routed?
Left side of the fuselage
Rear wing spars
What does the Hyd 1 system power?
Aileron, rudder &
tailplane PFCU, Q feel system (yaw damper switch on)
And when PSI is 1500 +- 100 or more
Gears, flaps, wheel brakes, speed brake
What does the hyd2 system power?
Aileron and tailplane PFCU only
Each Hyd system consist of?
Low pressure nitrogen charge reservoir
Engine driven Hyd pump
Flying control accumulator

Purpose of the flying control accumulator
Provide instant response during period of high demand
Ensure smooth supply by damping fluctuation
Short term emergency response following sys failure
Hyd 2 system has an addition RAT accumulator which…
Powers RAT to raise when Hyd 2 fail
Maintain pressure to PFCU while rat builds pressure
Provide smooth pressurized fluid during operation of emer Hyd system
When is Hyd 2 deactivated and when can Hyd 2 be reset?
If engine falls below 42% Hyd 2 drops off
When engine rpm rises to 45%, the Hyd 2 reset button can be pressed. (As much as 76% may be required to retract the RAT)
When does the RAT extend?
When hyd 2 falls below 1500 +- 100PSI
Rat output PSI
2400 - 3000psi
Amber Hyd 1 or 2 caution comes on when psi is
Output of hydraulic pump is 1230 +- 110 psi
Rat operating airspeed
Hyd EP: 130kts
Gliding: 115kts
Test: 105kts
