Q

What is the difference between a hydrate and its anhydrous form?

A

A hydrate has water trapped inside of it meanwhile the anhydrous form is just salt and no water.

Q

How do Hydrates make anhydrous salts?

A

When Hydrates are heated, the water releases vapor. The remaining is the anhydrous salt.

Q

Relationship between hydrates and its anhydrous salt?

A

A hydrate has water molecules in between the actual salt. The anhydrous salt is the form taken when those hydrates are heated (creating crystals)

Q

How is copper (II) sulfate different from its hydrate copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate?

A

It is different because its hydrate has water added in between the molecules. Copper (II) sulfate is simply just salt.
