Smith Low Pressure Hydrant:

A
  • Black barrel with silver bonnet
  • Two outlets, 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 inch
  • Two valves, main and drain
  • Number on the barrel indicates size of main
  • White line under the number indicates hydrant
    is on a dead end main ( generally small cause
    fed from one direction)

  • Eddy found in areas supplied by Jamaica
    water supply
  • Opens opposite direction of smith & dresser
  • Hydrants barrels will be painted black and open in the same direction (clockwise) as other city hydrants.
