Hyd Flashcards
How many pump does the yellow System have?
Three - Engine, Electric and Hand pump
What is the normal Pressure the HYD System?
3000psi +- 200psi
When does the PTU automatically function?
When it detects a difference in the green & yellow by 500 psi
What does the Green system power?
Gear Slats and most systems.
What does the Yellow system power?
Flaps Alternate
Brakes, NSW Steering Parking Brake
What is the pressure when powered by the RAT?
2500 psi
Can hydraulic fluid be transferred from one system to the other?
No it cannot.
What is the PTU?
A bidirectional Power Transfer unit that enables the Yellow system to pressurize the Green system and vice versa. Allows the Green System to be pressuirsed on the ground when the Engines are stopped.
What is the Ram Air Turbine?
A drop out RAT coupled to a Hyd pump powers the Blue System if electrical power is lost or if both Engines fail.
When does the RAT deploy automatically?
When AC Bus 1 & AC Bus 2 are both lost.
Can the RAT be deployed manually?
Yes from either the Hyd panel or the Emer Elec panel.
Can the Rat be Stowed in the air?
No it can only be stowed on the Ground.
What are the System accumulators?
An accumulator in each system helps maintain a constant pressure by covering transient demands during normal operation.
What do the Priority Valves do?
Cut off Hyd power to heavy loads if Hyd pressure in a system gets low.
Where are the Fire shutoff valves?
Upstream of the engine driven pumps.
