- Common for royal officials to be JPs
- local gentry (unpaid)
- acts of parliments were past to increase their power + responsibility - routine admin (tax)

Bond - legal doc that bound individual to perform action forfiet sum of money if failed

At the beginning of HVII reign income dropped £12,000
1492 Henry reverted to Edward system admin through chamber
By the end of his reign income increased to around £42,000 per year
Customers revenue
Tonnage + poundage granted for life increase income £34,000 to £38,000
Pension from other powers
Treaty of Etaples promised to annually pay Henry £5000
Extra ordinary Revenue
HVII got over £400,000 from EO tax however this provoked rebellion (1489,1497) - 1504 Henry promised parl he wouldn’t get money this way
