Hume's Cause And Effect Flashcards
1
Q
What does Hume say about causation?
A
Causation can’t directly occur from the observation of single objects or circumstances; causation occurs from the observation of one object being followed by another. E.g. when we clap our hands, a sound is made, however we don’t know that one causes the other. It is only a habit of thinking.
