What is the humanistic approach’s focus on free will & behaviour?

- behaviour is not always determined and people can choose how to behave

What was the general idea of Maslow’s positive theory?
A
- Hierarchy of needs - more basic needs at the bottom and higher needs at the top, once at the top a person reaches their full potential (self actualisation)
- Self actualisation - full potential reached, experienced in the form of peak experiences

It exists when there is a similarity between somebody’s ideal self and their actual self
higher level of congruence = higher level of self worth

When people receive unconditional positive regard
