hi
state two facts about the human systems
without going into deatail about any system
say cheese
-all the human systems are interconnected in some ways. They work together to enable our body to function properly
-if any of the systemm fails , the other systems** will be affected **and subsequently fail too.
uses of the mouth
Digestion begins in the mouth. The thief chew food into smaller pieces. This help to increase the surface area of food That digestive juices can act on. The tongue mixes saliva with the food. The functions of saliva are to
-make the food wet and soft so that it can be swallowed Easily.
-To break down some food into simpler substences. As saliva contains certain digestive juices. The soft chewed Food is then rolled into small balls. By the tongue and is swallowed.
uses of the gullet
It has also to push the food down into the stomach. The gullet is a tube that connects the mouth to the stomach It has Muscles to push the chewed food down into the stomach
uses of stomach
The stomach is a muscular bag that produces certain digestive juices. Food in the stomach is squeezed and mixed with the digestive juices. This helps to break down some food into simpler substances. The food which has now become.
A liquid like substance that Moves to the small intestine.
uses of small intestine
The small intestine is a long tube that produces Digestive juices The food is further broken down. By the digestive. Juices into simpler substances. Food that cannot be broken down. Into simpler substances. Remains undigested. Digestion is completed in the small intestine. The digested food and other nutrients. Pass through the walls of the small intestine and enters the blood. The blood then carries them to all parts of the body. The undigested food is moved into the large intestine.
uses of large intestine
In the large intestine. Water and minerals are absorbed from the undigested food. They pass through the walls of the large intestine and enter the blood. The remaining undigested food forms, the waste materials. The waste materials are removed from the body through an opening Called the anus.
