CENSORSHIP
When public communication or other information considered harmful by the government is withheld from the public
DISCRIMINATION
Treating people in a bad way because they are different from you e.g. racism
EXTREMISM
When people hold very extreme views on religion which are different to what others in the religion believe
HUMAN RIGHTS
Things that all humans should be entitled to e.g. water, food and shelter
PERSONAL CONVICTION
Something a person feels strongly about, often because of their faith e.g. MLK a personal conviction that racism was wrong
PREJUDICE
Judging someone in a negative way before you know them e.g. all Muslims are terrorists
RELATIVE POVERTY
The condition in which people lack the minimum amount of income needed in order to maintain the average standard of living in the society which we live
ABSOLUTE POVERTY
Severe deprivation of basic human needs e.g. access to food and water, sanitation facilities, education and information
SOCIAL JUSTICE
The distribution of wealth, opportunities and provision within society
