Where are the sperm created?
In the testes (male).
Where are eggs created?
In the ovaries (female).
How long is the time period between each egg cell being released?
Every 28 days (one month), but it does vary from person to person.
Where does the fertilised egg cell implant and develop?
Inside of the uterus/womb.
What is the male gamete?
Sperm cell.
What is the female gamete?
Egg cell.
What is the bag of skin holding the testes called?
The scrotum (male).
What is the organ that produces fluid and nutrients for the sperm called?
Glands.
what is ejaculation?
The release of semen from the penis.
What are gametes?
They are the sex cells of the organism.
How are sperm cells adapted to their function?
They have a long tail to swim, their head is packed with enzymes that provide energy, has a pointy head to penetrate the egg cell, and contains 50% of the genetic information for the baby.
How are egg cells adapted to their function?
Cell membrane changes to not allow any more sperm in after it has been fertilised, cytoplasm contain nutrients for the growing baby, its’ large size makes it easier to be fertilised.
