What is human reproduction involve?
sexual intercourse, pregnancy, birth, puberty and caring for the child till its able to care for itself
What is puberty?
time in when child changes into an adult
What are hormones?
chemical substance produced by glands that regulate the activity of specific cells and organs
What is menstruation/period?
the monthly bleeding from the vagina that is caused by the shedding of the lining of the uterus
What happens to one during puberty?
you go through emotional, physical and mental changes
What changes are made during puberty to boys and girls?
girls: breasts develop
pubic hair starts growing
period starts
loss of puppy fat and growth in height
boys: genital organs start to grow
pubic hair starts growing
voice breaks
grow in height
What are the reproductive organs of both gender?
female: vagina, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, ovary, ova/egg,.
male: sperm, penis, testicles, epididymis, scrotum
During which days of the menstrual cycle does the lining of the uterus get thinner?
days 1-5
During which days of the menstrual cycle does the lining repair itself?
days 6-10
During which days of the menstrual cycle does the fertile period occur and on which day is it strongest?
day 11-18

the lining continues to grow until the 26 day then it starts breaking down. day 28 is the thickest
What is fertilisation?
when sperm cells from the male and a ripe ovum from the female fuse together
What is implantation?
when the embryo attaches to the wall of the uterus
