Definition of development
Relates to the progress of a country in terms of economics growth, the use of technology and human welfare.
What does GNI stand for and what does it mean?
Gross National Income
This is a measure of a country’s wealth. It is the total value of goods and services produced by a country, plus the income earned from investments in other country’s. The figure is divided by the population of a country to produce a per capita.

This was devised by the UN as a social measure of development. It is a composite measure that considers life expectancy, GNI and number of years is education. A value between 1 and 0

Number of Births per 1000 people

Number of deaths per 1000 people

Number of of deaths of children under the age of 1 per 1000 births
