Organ
A group of tissues that work together to do a job in the body
Respiratory system
The system in the body that lets in oxygen and lets out carbon dioxide
Circulatory/cardiovascular system
The system that delivers what your cells need and picks up cell waste
Diaphragm
The muscle that helps you breathe; You breathe in when it contracts and out when it relaxes
Vein
In the circulatory system, a vessel that moves blood toward the heart
Skeletal system
The system that provides support and protection to the body; It also makes blood cells
Nutrients
The parts of food that your body needs for energy and health
Small intestine
In the digestive system, food passes into it from the stomach and nutrients are absorbed by the blood here
Trachea
In the respiratory system, its the tube between mouth/nose and the lungs
Heart
In the ciruculatory system, it pumps blood to all parts of the body
Nervous system
The system that controls everything in the body by sending signals through your body
Large intestine
The final stop in the digestive system; waste is stored here
Cell
The smallest building block of every living thing
Esophagus
In the digestive system, it’s the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach
Brain
In the nervous system, it’s the control system for everything.
Muscular system
The system that allows you to move by pulling on your bones
Stomach
In the digestive system, it holds food for several hours and adds chemicals to break it down
Oxygen
What your body breathes in; Every cell in you body needs it to burn energy
Lungs
In the respiratory system, blood picks oxygen up and drops carbon dioxide off here

The system that breaks food down into nutrients that can be absorbed.

In the circulatory system, a vessel that moves blood away from the heart

In the nervous system, the thick nerve that runs down the neck and back
