Describe how stereotypes are formed
Humans form schemata, these can be applied to humans which can lead to pre-judgements
Describe changes in mental functioning with age
Decreased speed of learning, Difficulty problem solving, Episodic memory reduced

Activity becomes associated with an unrelated stimulus
Describe operant conditioning
Repeat behaviors that are rewarded and avoid those that are punished

View consequences of other peoples actions and copy those that have positive consequences, greater effect with high status people

Decisions based on severity and susceptibility of the threat, and benefits and barriers to the behaviours

Desire to comply with the norm and their belief as to whether they can carry out the behaviour

The extent a patient follows doctor’s orders
Define adherence
Extent the patient aligns with medical advice
Factors that decrease adherence
Severe symptoms, Reduced symptoms, Complex regime, Low understanding, Depression
Define concordance
Negotiation between doctors and patient on treatment
Describe stress as a process
Primary appraisal determines response, Secondary appraisal determines if they have the resources, Reappraisal after attempting to deal with it
State some of the consequences of stress
High BP, Reduced immune system, Depression

Emotion, changing feeling, or problem focused, finding a solution
