Vital signs
Temperature of a person ( normal average: 98.6) (activity;food/fluid;and time of day.
Body temperature
Measures the heart rate.
Pulse Rate
Measures the number of breaths.
Respiration rate
Force of blood pushing against arterial walls when the heart beats.
Blood pressure
measure the amount of oxygen in the blood (fifth vital sign).
Pulse Oximetry
Force of blood against arterial walls when the heart contracts.
Systolic pressure
Force of blood against arterial walls when the heart relaxes.
Diastolic pressure
When body temperature is too high: Heat exhaustion (101-104).
Hyperthermia
When body temperature is too low (below 95).
Hypothermia
Blood pressure is to high.
Hypertension
Blood pressure is to low.
Hypotension
Spreading by contact.
Contagious
to recognize a disease by looking at signs and symptoms.
Diagnose
When virus, bacteria, fungi, or yeast invade the body tissues.
Infection
Harmless virus or bacteria is put into the body to activate immune system.
vaccine
A sudden rise of disease (COVID).
Outbreak
Any thing that can cause a disease (bacteria, virus, fungi, yeast)
Pathogen
The throbbing of a blood vessel when the heart contacts.
Pulse
Any signs that the body is not working properly.
Symptom
Spreading of a disease in a country.
Epidemic
Spreading a disease with throughout the world.
Pandemic
To examine by touch.
Palpate
A temporary increase in body temperature; a sign of an infection or illness.
