Q

Explain why vasodilator drugs must be combined with another drug?

A

Compensatory response to decreased arterial pressure:

  • Increased sodium reabs. –> H2O reabs.
  • Renin release –> increased H2O reabs.
  • Increased sympathetics –> inc. art. pressure and increased cardiac output
