- A nation’s legislative body that makes and debates laws

- The ruling party or coalition managing a country, led by the Prime Minister or equivalent

- The political party or coalition not in power, critiquing and holding the government accountable

Crossbenchers
A
- Independent or minor party members not aligned with government or opposition

- A written law passed by Parliament

- The formal approval by the monarch (or representative), in this case the Governor-General, to make a bill law

- The authority of a court or body to make legal decisions in a specific area
