What is flexibility and what component of fitness is it?
The range of motion in your joints and it is a health related component.
What is strength and what component of fitness is it?
Strength is the amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance and it is health related.
What is muscular endurance and what component of fitness is it?
Muscular endurance is the ability to voluntary use muscles many times without getting tired and it is health related
What is body composition and what component of fitness is it?
It is the percentage of body that is muscle, fat or bone and it is health related
What is cardiovascular fitness and what component of fitness is it?
It is the ability to exercise the whole body for long periods of time and it is health related
What is agility and what component is it?
It is the ability to control movement of the whole body and change position quickly and it is skill relates
What is reaction time and what component is it?
It is the time between the presentation of a stimulus and the onset of a movement and it is skill related
What is coordination and what component is it?
It is the ability to use two or more parts together and it is skill related
What is balance and what component is it?
It is to keep the body stable, while at rest or in motion and is skill related
What is speed and what component is it?
It is the rate of which an individual can cover a movement or range of distance and it is skill related

Alternating stages of high and low intensity activity
What is fartlek training
A method for runners in which the terrain and speed are constantly changing
What is continuous training
Aerobic exercising at a moderate to high level with no rest
What is circuit training?
A series of exercises completed for a certain amount of time, one after another.
What is weight training?
It is lifting weights to increase the strength of muscles using repetitions and sets
What is Plyometric training?
Exercises where muscles use maximum force in short intervals of time
What is power and what component of fitness is it?
Power is the ability to undertake strength performances quickly and it is skill related
What are individual needs?
Individual needs is the fact that every athlete is at a different level of fitness and all workouts should be changed to match that person’s requirements
What is Specificity?
Matching the training to the requirements of the sport/activity
What is progressive overload?
Gradually increasing the amount of overload to improve fitness
What does FITT stand for?
Frequency (how often)
Intensity (how hard)
Time (how long)
Type (what method)
What is overtraining?
It is training to the point in which you train beyond your body’s ability to recover
What is reversibility?
Gradually losing fitness instead of progressing or staying at the same level.
