Despite strong advocacy by RCOA and other organisations and individuals,

A

Although the realities of Australia’s divisive domestic political environment made the task of advocacy extremely difficult, RCOA continued its dialogue with Government, meeting members of Parliament and senior departmental officers and using the meetings to press for the release of children from immigration detention and alternatives to detention for recognised refugees detained because of adverse ASIO security assessments.
