What is Continuous Training?
It is a type of training with a low intensity for an extended period of time. There are 3 types, fartlek, anaerobic threshold and long slow distance.
What is Interval Training?
Interval training is training in intervals of work followed by rest intervals. You are able to target specific fitness components through this. Due to resting, you are able to train also at a higher intensity.
What is Resistance Training?
Resistance training is training in which you push and test the strength in your joints and muscles. It develops muscular endurance and strength. Done with weights.
What is Circuit Training?
Circuit trainings are made up of a set number of stations with allocated time and set reps on each. They are designed so that body parts get rested throughout working others.
What is Flexibility Training?
This plays a role in injury prevention by improving range of motion in joints and muscles. There are 3 main types, static, dynamic and PNF.
What does F.I.T.T Stand For?
Frequency (How Often), Intensity (How Hard), Type (What Training), Time (How Long)
What is PNF in Flexibility Training?
PNF is stretching a muscle to its maximum, and then trying to stretch a little more. (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)
