- Puritans: They don’t like it because it suggest they(priest) were more important than ordinary people. Elizabeth: She wanted the clergy to wear it, as set out in the Royal injunctions
- Archbishop of Canterbury shows priests what vestments they must wear and when in London. 37 did not attend and were sacked.
